The reasons for looking to the internet for a home based business are numerous to say the least. We are just going to look at one of the many sides of the story here. There is no better way to reach millions of people in a shorter period of time than the internet. The cost of starting an online business is minimal compared to that of say a franchise, it is just not comparable. Then there is the manpower issue, as to how many people you would have to hire in a typical store type business as compared to you being the only employee in your internet business. The workmans compensation insurance is one of the big issues with having people on a payroll. In the store type business you will more than likely have to have warehouse space or an office building, but with your online business your inventory is digitally loaded on your computer. Another issue is that you would need your inventory insured for damage or fire. Without the expensive fire insurance if a fire was to happen, your business would be over. There is no way you would be able to come back from that type of loss without plenty of outside help short of a miracle.

This is just to mention a few of the perks of your online business. Now granted it is not all a bed of roses in the online world. You have major competition through out the internet. Persistence and research are going to have to be a big part of your arsenal if you are to have any chance at success at any level of business of your own.
